Good question. I have a few goals. I’m almost 30, but have saved almost nothing for retirement. We want to buy a house or apartment (carrying costs will definitely be lower in our area than renting). Also, I graduated into the worst legal market in memory, and although things have improved, I never want to find myself out of a job without a big cushion of cash.

Good Gracious! Your progress is crazy! I suspect it will feel real that you can finish the loans about the same time you pay them off. Then you have to deal with the disbelief that they are gone! Sounds like a good problem to have.

Thanks, Kate. We are definitely making progress, and I am certainly looking forward to being done . . . it just still feels like it’s awfully far in the future.
